In a two-dimen­sion­al dystopi­an land­scape of desert­ed half-built houses in Alba­nia, a new mythol­o­gy is in the making. The film­mak­ers, per­haps a con­tem­po­rary incar­na­tion of Goldilocks from the tale of the Three Bears, invade the houses and occupy their empty, lim­i­nal space and its miss­ing fur­ni­ture. The local com­mu­ni­ty com­ments in song and speech about the new arrivals and their enter­prise of an immi­gra­tion in an oppo­site direc­tion, from the full to the empty, from excess to lack.  

Effi & Amir, Effi Weiss (born in Israel, 1971) and Amir Boren­stein (born in Israel, 1969) oper­ate as an artist duo since 1998. They work mainly as video makers and often involve per­for­mance and par­tic­i­pa­to­ry strate­gies in their projects. Besides their own artis­tic prac­tice they work as edi­tors, cam­era­men and effect design­ers. They teach and give video work­shops to var­i­ous audi­ences. Freiburg­er Film­fo­rum 2021 screened their long doc­u­men­tary SHOWER POWER.
