Ivan Komendantov is only 16 years old, but he is a dedicated communist and secretary of ideology at the communist youth organisation Komsomol in Moscow. He wants to become an adult quickly and can´t even be disheartened by critique from his superiors on his overeagerness. So he enthusiastically takes up any task: whether it be the rise of Russia in the world economy or the special challenge to be in a relationship with a girl.
Filmmaker Yuriy Pivovarov succeeds to establish an unusual and respectful closeness to this strong-willed and unshaken young man, that allows us dive deeply into the protagonist’s world – a world of ideology and of a daydream of Russia’s communist past.
