»Paint, no matter what those around you think«; this is the motto of the main char­ac­ter of the film. His chil­dren are proud of their father, but his mother and wife dis­ap­prove of his work as an artist. In their opin­ion, as a mar­ried man he should pay more atten­tion to his family and earn more money. In the day­time, he runs his own greengrocer’s shop in a market hall in Teheran. When the shut­ter is closed, he spreads out paper on the floor between the shelves and starts paint­ing. His work has never been exhib­it­ed, but this does not keep him from going on.
