This film tries to make a con­tri­bu­tion to the inter­est in and debate about indige­nous heal­ing in gen­er­al, by specif­i­cal­ly look­ing at the case of mental patients in the West­ern Province of Kenya. While the film refers to rit­u­al­is­tic and bio­med­ical aspects of this kind of heal­ing, it cen­tres mainly on demon­strat­ing the day­to­day treat­ment a for­tune teller gives to a patient on his family compound.
