Early German Expedition Films

DIE DA LAUFEN

Annette Wagner
Germany 2000 | 43 Min. | Video

In the thirties the german couple Margit and Ludwig Kohl-Larsen portrayed the daily life of the Hadzabe, nomades in Tanzania. After these fotos and films had been rediscovered in a german archive the filmmaker shows them sixty years later to the descendants of the Hadzabe. The cinema – night out in the bush is the starting-point for conversations about familiy issues and the life of the hunters and gatherers then and today.
