The Lebanese filmmaker makes several trips from Germany back to her home city of Beirut over the course of the three years following the onset of a catastrophic economic collapse in the country in 2019. She tries to make sense of a life enmeshed in crisis, born of one and heading towards another one. In the process, she witnesses in fragments and through unplanned encounters how everyone around her: family, friends, passers-by, and herself have come to emotionally navigate the eerily mundane nature of this terrible event -the end of their world.

Sabah Jalloul is a writer, journalist and filmmaker from Beirut, Lebanon. She is currently completing her MA in Visual Anthropology, Media and Documentary Practices at the University of Münster, Germany. Her film SHEDDING SKIN IN LATE JUNE was screened in the Students’ Edition of Freiburger Filmforum 2021.
