Our special guest Marie-Helene Cousineau (left) is the founding Coordinator of Tarriaksuk Video Centre established in 1991. Cousineau formed the collective Arnait Ikajurtigiit (Women’s Video Workshop), and is its coordinator/trainer as well as an active collaborating producer with Mary Kunuk, Madeline Ivalu and Susan Avingaq. Cousineau has curated several exhibitions of work from Tarriaksuk and written about the experiences of women making video in Igloolik. She has received four Canada Council video production grants and a B Grant, and her video work is widely exhibited. With an MFA in Communications from University of Iowa. Cousineau was also associate professor of Communications at Concordia University in Montréal (1997-1999).
