The volcanoes that rise up from the sea above the Aeolian Islands are metallic blue. The atmosphere is heavy and charged with energy as the inhabitants go about their daily work. Yet, suddenly, the world holds its breath. A roaring wind sends people fleeing into their houses. And all the while that the lava masses flow through the darkness of the night into which they have erupted, the village sings, as if to appease nature.
